Grid-tied power electronic converters are key enabling technologies for interfacing renewable energy sources, storage, electrical vehicles, microgrids, and high-voltage dc transmission lines with the grid. As number of in modern grids continually increases, their monitoring coordinated control a way to support grid have become topics increased practical research interest. In connection this, latest standards also defined mandatory set parameters grid-tied converters, which should be adjustable by remote entity that sends commands through communication network. While such capability allows many new functions it renders them vulnerable cyber-attacks. The aim this article is first shed light on portions converter systems Next, typical cyber-attacks overviewed considering different applications converters. Further, impact types studied. Finally, concluded summary recommendation further research.
